We invited our neighbors to a BBQ to get to know them, enjoyed a beautiful afternoon, made some new friends, and invited the entire community to join us to listen to some great music.

The Lord blessed us with another beautiful day for swimming, boating, fishing, games, great food and a fun time with family and friends!  Thanks to Cindy and Art for the planning and to all who helped make the day possible!
Free Movie Event - "Woodlawn":

We started off with dinner and snacks, followed it with good music and a great movie, and finished up with Jerry Palmieri and Marcus Paul of the NY Giants speaking.  We had a great turnout!  Thanks to all who helped with this special evening!



Missions Conference 2016:
April 15-17, 2016:
This weekend, we were blessed to be visited by two of our missionary couples - John and Jeanne W., and Bruce and Wendy D.  There were many events scheduled for the weekend, so we had a number of opportunities to hear about different aspects of their ministries.  On Friday, we had a coffeehouse.  Saturday morning, there were men's and women's breakfasts, followed by a potluck dinner Saturday evening. And our missionaries also presented during Sunday school and our Sunday service. It was amazing to hear how God has been working in their lives and has helped them touch the lives of so many others!

We showed the love today to First Choice Women's Resource Center as we collected baby bottles filled with spare change to donate to them to help provide free resources to women who are experiencing or at risk for an unplanned pregnancy.

Aftershock Youth Group Special Presentation:

The youth group of Iglesia Bautista in Paterson presented their mission trip to the Andes (which was partially supported by funds raised by children who attended GBC's Vacation Bible School) to our Aftershock Youth Group.  There was also music by the GBC Praise Team as well as refreshments.

After service, we got together and shared this year's praises, as well as some awesome pies.  We also had a cake to celebrate pastor appreciation.

November 21, 2015
A great bunch of people got together for sewing, food, and fellowship!  We sewed shorts for boys, which will be given to missionaries to give out to help children know they are worthy of love and respect and help protect them from abuse and trafficking.

High School Marching Band Dinner Outreach:
October 30, 2015
We served dinner to the high school marching band before the home game.  A delicious supper was provided for over 70 hungry students and instructors.  Enough was left over for them to have food for their trip Saturday to Union for the state band competition!

Christmas in October:
October 21-25, 2015:
We had several opportunities to hear about the tremendous work our missionaries are doing in Peru, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Bolivia, as well as in Boca Raton, Florida. On Wednesday, the Connection groups met at GBC for a presentation. On Thursday, our Women of Grace got to hear an informative presentation at their group meeting, and there was more great information given out at our Sunday school class and during coffee fellowship on Sunday.

Ladies I.n.c. Samaritan's Purse (shoeboxes):
October 17, 2015:
144 shoeboxes were stuffed and wrapped for shipment all over the world to brighten Christmas for little children and show them the love of Christ as well as bring them the gospel!  We dedicated this one to Dolores, who was and will be missed greatly!  Thanks to all who helped!


Pequannock Township Family Hoedown:
September 19, 2015:
We had a booth at the hoedown this year.  Thank you to all who volunteered!  Many stopped by the booth to play our game, say hello, share stories, or get a free Bible or free water. 


Summer Splash Party:

This was a follow-up event for parents with their children after our VBS this year.  God blessed us with wonderful weather, and we had outdoor water games, a Bible lesson, and ice cream sundaes.  It was a lot of fun for parents, children, and the volunteers!

Vacation Bible School:
July 27-31, 2015:
The kids learned so much and had so much fun!  Thanks to all who helped make it possible!  They had a penny march and were able to donate over $900.00!!! to New Bridge Kids and a mission trip that is being undertaken to South America by the youth group at Iglesia Bautista in Paterson.

Prophecy Conference:
July 24-26, 2015
Jimmy DeYoung, a preacher, prophecy conference speaker, and fully-credentialed journalist, as well as the author/producer of many books, CDs and DVDs on prophecy, joined us this weekend for a 4-part conference on prophecy.  The material was well-organized and extremely thought-provoking. It is important information for Christians in today's world, and it was a privilege to host him and his lovely wife, Judy.

God blessed us with a beautiful evening!  The music was great, and the weather was perfect.  Thanks to "Big Beat" for all their hard work!
    


The Miracle of a Transformed Life:
June 28, 2015
At the end of the sermon, we were blessed hear the dynamic testimony of Ruben Ronda.  Ruben once stated, "I've done my jail time." Now, Ruben reaches out to those that are incarcerated at New York City's Riker's Island.  Ruben Ronda: "I went from being a prisoner to sin to preaching the good news of liberty in Jesus Christ to those that are in prison."

G.B.C. Picnic:

God blessed us once again with a beautiful day!  We enjoyed swimming, boating, fishing, games, food, and fun with family and friends!  Thanks to Art and Cindy for putting it together and thanks to all who helped!

                          
               

Aftershock Youth Group 30 hour famine:
The youth group participated in World Vision's 30 hour famine from June 5-6, 2015.  It was a good time of reflection as the kids truly knew how it felt to be hungry.  They raised $712.00!!!! to send to children in third world countries to help feed them.  Awesome!  They also painted and refurbished "the coop" during the lock-in.  They did a great job and it looks amazing!

Parenting Conference:

An informative and helpful conference put on by Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller from the Council for Biblical Parenting on the subject of motivating our children. We learned how to use firmness, visioning, teaching, prayer, and coaching to help move our children to where they need to go by working on their heart qualities.

Missions Conference 2015:
April 17-19, 2015:
We started off with "A Day in the Life", where our visiting missionaries shared about their ministries.
On Saturday, our missionary wives joined us for a Ladies INC breakfast, and gave a wonderful presentation followed by a Q and A session. Later in the day, a delicious potluck dinner was served, followed by a workshop where we learned about the Islamic faith.
Testimonies and an a very informative and practical sermon wrapped up the weekend.  Thanks to all involved!

Sunday 5 / Palm Sunday / Pastor Welcome / Birthday Dinner:
We had a wonderful dinner today welcoming our new pastor, Ed Rumley, and his family, and we were also blessed to be able to celebrate the 99th birthday of a wonderful, godly women who has been attending GBC for many years.  What a blessed day!

"You Knit Me Together" - We came together to learn the art of knitting.  Some of us definitely have the knack for knitting more than others, but we all had a great time!  There has been talk of doing a "part 2."

Christmas in October

Dan and Becca V., missionaries from Chile, joined us this weekend.  They have been serving in camp ministry in Uruguay. They are currently raising support for a move to begin a similar ministry in Chile  after July 2015.  They gave a wonderful presentation at Dan delivered the sermon and Becca shared with the kids at Junior Church.  During fellowship, they gave a ministry presentation.  It was a fascinating look into their ministry and how God is working in their lives.

Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child

Our Christmas angels packed 134 shoeboxes for children all over the world through Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child program. Beautiful gifts for kids who have never received a gift before, but more of a gift for those of us who were a part of it. God is so good!

National Day of Prayer Event at GBC

As God’s people, there is power when we PRAY! On the first Thursday in May, our nation paused to observe a National Day of Prayer, and on that day, we as the church in America, had an opportunity to emphasize the importance of PRAYER as a testimony to who God is, what we believe, and the fact that our Nation was founded upon the truths of God’s Word. We joined with thousands of other churches across our nation to participate in this year’s National Day of Prayer!

Passover Seder
April 15  7:00-8:30 PM

Christians are increasingly celebrating Passover as we recognize that it pictures Jesus as the Passover Lamb.  From a head table, Messianic Rabbi Mottel Baleston lead us through the Passover Seder, pausing to point out those rituals which have direct fulfillment in Messiah Jesus.  We were able to partake in samples of the traditional Seder food as he explained how it all points to Christ as the Savior.  It was a fascinating and enlightening evening.  Thanks to Rabbi Baleston and those who volunteered to make it happen!

Missions Conference 2014: "Do Something"

April 4-6

This year's schedule of events included a Friday night coffee house with music and presentations by our missionaries, as well as food and fellowship.  It was amazing to hear the stories from our missionaries of the work they are doing to bring the gospel to all parts of the world!  On Saturday, we had men's & women's prayer brunches, small home group dinners, and a youth group dinner - all attended by our missionaries.  On Sunday, they joined us for Sunday school and our potluck dinner as well.  Our Sunday service was given by Leon and included a fascinating story about his work in Indonesia and the Bible Institute there.  It is a blessing to have these Godly men and women representing our faith and our church as they share the Word of God!

GBC had a night of good food and fellowship. There were fun activities and gift baskets, great comedy, an inspiring devotional, and a surprise entertainer, and, as a special treat, we got to sing "Happy Birthday" to a very special lady.

Ladies' "Made to Crave" Bible Study

Thursday Evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 PM for 10 weeks beginning Thursday, Jan. 23.
Has food become more about frustration than fulfillment?  Made to Crave Bible Study gave us the missing link between a woman's desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment to make that happen.  The study was very inspirational, and we decided to follow it up with a health and fitness group.  Join us for the new group same time on Thursdays.  Wear comfortable clothes and shoes and bring a friend.

Our theme was "Chilled but Filled", proving that although we're chilled from the weather, we can be filled with Christ.  We had good food and fellowship, an awesome devotional by our guest, Wendy Dower, and made cards for those who were feeling "under the weather".

For four weeks, starting January 23, prayer meetings were held at the parsonage to hold GBC up to the Lord and pray for  
the Church and God's direction for 2014.

We welcomed Bruce and Wendy Dower, missionaries to military men, women, and their families at Fort Bragg, NC. 
They spoke at Adult Sunday School and Bruce preached a wonderful sermon at the 10:30 a.m. Worship Service.
Bruce and Wendy will be in the area through mid-April, and will also be speaking at our Missions Conference that month. They are looking forward to connecting with as many of us as possible between now and then.

Dale B's PWA Outreach

Dear GBC Family,

Thank you SO much for all of your efforts to provide gifts for Dale’s PWA (People With AIDS) outreach.

The Lord used you to provide 159 gifts (and maybe dozens more, if multi-pack gifts are taken apart and given separately), and over $150 in donations!!

As is written in 2 Corinthians 9:6, “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”

We welcomed back to GBC Ralph J. and his new wife, Anula who are serving in the Middle East. They will be here for the next few months, and they will be visiting with us periodically throughout that time.
We gave them a warm welcome and enjoyed a piece of cake in their honor!

Today, a slew of volunteers spent the morning sorting items, filling shoeboxes, and wrapping them to send overseas to the Samaritan's Purse ministry. When we were done, we had 130 shoeboxes filled and wrapped! Great job and thanks to all who helped!

At this two-day event, we heard from missionary, Debbie (Black Forest Academy, Germany), and collected offerings to send to all of our missionaries in time to bless them for Christmas.

Our events also included a Young-at-Heart Continental Breakfast and a Potluck Dinner.

We kicked off our study into Genesis and the history of the Nation of Israel.  Fascinating stuff!  And the pizza served afterwards was pretty good too.  :)

We had an awesome time kicking off the new year for youth group (students in grades 7-12) with food, games, a bonfire, and
fellowship. God blessed us with wonderful weather, and a great time was had by all.  It was amazing to see how the group has grown in size in just one year.  God has definitely been at work in this ministry!
 
9/11 National Day of Prayer:
Sept 11, 2013-
We had a prayer meeting on Sept. 11 to confront and deal with America's spiritual descent from God
through repentance and prayer.   We had a very good turnout.  Please continue to hold our nation in prayer.   
 
Welcome for Debbie:
Sept. 8, 2013-
Today, we welcomed back our missionary, Debbie, back from Germany, and enjoyed a piece of cake in her honor.
Debbie is on a yearlong furlough in the United States, and will be spending several months of it with us! She’ll also be our featured speaker at Christmas in October on October 12th and 13th (details to follow).

Our Sunday School celebrated Back to School Sunday with a Kick-Off party after class.  We encourage you to come by and study God's Word with our GBC family.

Movie night: G.B.C. showed Flywheel, a great movie about how God can work to restore our lives.

Sundaes on Friday, our ice cream social was a hit!  We had  ice cream sundaes followed by family games and contests.

Movie night: The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry, a wonderful story about the difference one man can make in the lives of many.  Those who came out said the movie was one of the best they'd seen.      

Aug 2, 2013-
Movie night: Fireproof,  an action-packed story about a firefighter, his wife, and a marriage worth rescuing.  Thanks to those who came out!
 
July 26, 2013-
Movie night: G.B.C. showed Facing the Giants, a great movie about a high school coach who trusts God to do the impossible.
 
July 12, 2013 -
GBC showed The Grace Card, a touching story about redemption and forgiveness. The movie was great, and the popcorn was good too!

Vacation Bible School
This year, G.B.C. did Colossal Coaster World.  We had a great group of kids this year.  They had a great time learning about God's word!  Thanks to everyone who helped!

Cancelled due to weather. We are looking into possibly rescheduling this for September. Stay tuned!

Young at Heart Luncheon
A good time was had by all as a new local restaurant was tested out.

Night of Worship
Our worship team was awesome in leading GBC and guests in this uplifting night of praise and worship through music!
 

        


Word of Life
Several men from our church community attended this year's Word of Life conference.  The Word was uplifting, the food was good, and the fellowship was amazing.

Missions Conference
This year's Missions Conference was a HUGE success.  We were fortunate to have the Vallettes, the Colons, and Sharon Bisbee visiting.  We had a number of special events including:

Aftershock goes to Acquire the Fire  
Our teens attended this year's Acquire the Fire.  These kids are amazing, and seeing how God moved them and is continuing to work in them and through them has been an amazing experience for the leaders as well!
